Tarkio is a town of 2,300 population, which is best described as a middle-class community in rural mid-America. The area includes primarily farm-oriented business and industry.
The Tarkio Presbyterian Church celebrated its Centennial in 1981, and has embarked on its second century. We recently celebrated our church building being 100 years old and with that celebration we totally refurbished the interior and exterior of the church. This effort entailed a lot of time and fund raising by the entire congregation. The congregation is reasonably conservative in its attitudes, yet it is open to new ideas and change, when these relate to the future goals of the Church.
